PHNOM PENH: Vietnam's kickboxing team showcased impressive skills at the 2024 Asian Kickboxing Championships, securing a total of 11 gold medals, along with 11 silver and 11 bronze, positioning themselves third in the overall medal tally. The event, which drew competitors from across Asia, was held in Cambodia from October 8th to 13th. According to Emirates News Agency, Vietnam's remarkable performance placed them behind Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the medal standings. The team, comprising 29 athletes and 10 coaching staff, participated in 34 events and made it to 22 final bouts, demonstrating their prowess and determination throughout the tournament. The General Secretary of the Kickboxing Federation of Vietnam (KFC) Duong Ngoc Hai expressed that the event served as a crucial platform for Vietnamese kickboxers to gain valuable experience against some of the best competitors in Asia. He emphasized that the exposure and lessons learned at such a high level of competition are instrumental in preparing the at hletes for future international challenges, including the prestigious World Games.
