Yesterday, Thursday, the Women Supreme National Council, inside the main meeting hall of the Libyan Iron and Steel Company in the city of Misrata, held an expanded workshop on the role of Libyan women and their contribution to political and social life and decision-making in the sovereign departments of the state. The workshop was attended by representatives of the offices of the Supreme National Council for Libyan Women in a number of Libyan cities and regions, in addition to a number of academic, cultural and media figures working in women's rights organizations. The Vice President of the National Council for Libyan Women, Dr. Fathiya Al-Muhaishi, confirmed in a special statement to the Libyan News Agency (LANA), that the Council seeks, through these workshops, seminars and meetings, to enhance the role of women through their communication with official bodies, governmental and private institutions, to convey their voice, role, and actions to contribute to the service of women. Society and raising women' s capabilities, which is considered a major and important element that will be highly relied upon during the coming period, especially in light of the current challenges and circumstances that the country is going through. The workshop witnessed a number of lectures, visual presentations, working papers and research presented by a number of participants to contribute to raising the cultural and intellectual awareness of Libyan women.
