Irbid: Yarmouk Water Company (YWC) staff detected illegal attacks on a water transmission pipeline in an area of Ramtha District, northern Jordan. In a statement on Wednesday, YWC General Manager, Mohammad Amayreh, said that based on a complaint received by the YWC, in coordination with the concerned authorities, the company staff detected an illegal use of water by connecting an external pipeline to one of YWC's transmission pipelines, to supply an agricultural pond estimated at 6000 cubic meters to water farms and greenhouses. He pointed out that the quantities of water withdrawn from the transmission pipeline were estimated at about 100 cubic meters per hour, in addition to seizing a number of sub-pipelines in the same place, which were also connected illegally, some of which feed homes and others feed sheep breeders' tents. The attacks and violations were documented by the company's internal audit and control unit in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures. Source: Jordan News Agency
