Paris: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reached out to French President Emmanuel Macron, seeking additional air defense and missile systems amid ongoing Russian aggression. Zelenskyy highlighted his concerns that Russia is taking advantage of internal issues within various countries, including France, to advance its attacks on Ukraine.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Zelenskyy communicated these needs during a phone conversation with Macron, emphasizing the urgency for robust air defense and missile capabilities. In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Zelenskyy stated, "I spoke with President Emmanuel Macron...I informed him of our priority needs, primarily air defense and missile systems."
Zelenskyy expressed his belief that the global focus on the Middle East and domestic challenges within nations is providing Russia with opportunities to exploit these distractions. He condemned the Russian attacks, describing them as increasingly malicious, and expressed concern over their impact on Ukraine.
Zelenskyy further discussed the situation with Macron, who is dealing with a political crisis in France. The Ukrainian leader underscored the importance of international cooperation to address the growing threats posed by Russian military actions.
