An earthquake measuring 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale today struck the Kermadec Islands off the coast of New Zealand. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 53.4 km. There have been no reports of casualties or material losses due to the earthquake so far.
