An earthquake of 5.3 magnitude jolted the eastern Turkish city of Yesilyurt in Malatya province Thursday, Turkey's Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) announced.
The quake took place at 20:48 (local time), the AFAD said, noting that the depth of earthquake was seven km.
In a statement to Anadolu Agency, Malatya Governor Ersin Yazici said a derelict building was ruined due to the quake, breaking the leg of a child while crossing the street.
The concerned teams continue their field survey in the state, he said, indicating that several people were jumping from the balcony
