Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Hungarian Katalin Novak agreed to elevate the bilateral relations to strategic partnership that serves the common interests of both countries.
The agreement is the fruit of the Amir's visit to Budapest, capital of Hungary, where he held talks with President Novak and Prime Minister Viktor Orban, on ways for strengthening cooperation in various fields, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Monday at the end of the visit.
Both sides discussed a range of regional and international issues of common concern, and agreed to open broader horizons for cooperation in such areas as energy, economy, business, education, higher education and scientific research.
The relations between the two countries are based on solid values of respect, mutual trust, political and economic cooperation, and common interests, according to QNA. Earlier today, the Qatari Amir and his entourage wrapped up a two-day visit to Budapest. He sent cables of thanks to President Novak and Prime Minister Orban, for the warm reception and honor accorded to him and the entourage.
