Representative of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, received this Sunday morning, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Libya, Yan Farid, to discuss the humanitarian and relief situation in the city of Derna, and other cities affected by floods and torrents. . The Presidential Media Office reported that the head of the international mission, Al-Lafi, gave a comprehensive briefing on the mission's efforts and contributions since the disaster occurred, explaining the amount of aid and work it had undertaken, in partnership with the Libyan Red Crescent, by providing rescue equipment, recovering bodies, providing rapid response, and providing technical support that is needed to local rescue teams to help those affected, and to support the volunteers who are calling from all over Libya to help their brothers in the affected cities. In turn, Al-Lafi praised the rapid response of the International Mission of the Red Cross, its local partner, the Libyan Red Crescent Soci ety, and all the volunteers, who were among the first to sacrifice themselves to respond to this humanitarian work, welcoming the efforts of all international organizations and institutions that contributed what they could to mitigate the scale of the disaster.
