Oman and Uzbekistan Sign Agreement to Boost Logistics Cooperation


Tashkent: Oman and Uzbekistan have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing business collaborations in the logistics sector. The agreement, signed by representatives from Oman’s ASYAD Group and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, focuses on developing opportunities in supply chains and logistics management.

According to Oman News Agency, the MoU was signed by Sheikh Nasser Sulaiman Al Harthy, Deputy President for Operations at Oman Investment Authority and Chairman of ASYAD Group’s Board of Directors, alongside Laziz Kudratov, the Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade. The partnership seeks to leverage ASYAD Group’s proficiency in managing diverse logistics operations including land ports, railways, warehouses, air cargo, last mile delivery, and e-commerce solutions.

The signing event was notably attended by Sayyida Wafa Jabr Al Busaidi, Oman’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and Eng. Abdulrahman Salim Al Hatmi, CEO of ASYAD Group. This agreement marks a
significant step in fostering closer economic ties between the two nations through strategic logistics and supply chain collaborations.
