Jabal Akhdar: The joint military exercise between Oman and Pakistan, named “Washaq Al Jabal 1” or “Mountain Lynx 1,” commenced today in the military training area of Al Jabal Al Akhdar. The exercise, involving forces from the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), and units from the Pakistani Army, is set to run until October 21, 2024.
According to Oman News Agency, this collaborative military drill encompasses a series of challenging military obstacles and joint training operations. The primary objectives of “Mountain Lynx 1” are to maintain the combat and operational readiness of the RAO personnel and to foster the exchange of military expertise with Pakistan, a strategic ally. The exercise is also an opportunity for both countries to reinforce their military cooperation and enhance their capabilities in dealing with various security challenges.
