RIMINI: ITALY The Jordan Tourism Board has successfully concluded its participation in the 2024 International Tourism Exhibition, which took place from October 9 to 11 in Rimini, Italy. The event, a major hub for tourism industry professionals, featured 35 tourism offices and included participation from Royal Jordanian.
According to Jordan News Agency, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and Chairperson of the Board, Lina Annab, highlighted the importance of the exhibition, describing it as a vital platform for promoting global tourism and showcasing Jordan’s unique tourism offerings. Annab emphasized the exhibition’s role in strengthening industry relationships and addressing key sector challenges.
Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, detailed the objectives behind Jordan’s participation, focusing on promoting sustainable tourism and cultural experiences. Arabiyat discussed efforts to expand Jordan’s network of international partners and explore new cooperative ventures to e
nhance the tourism sector.
The importance of ongoing communication with global travel agents was underscored, particularly for strengthening Jordan’s presence in the European market. Deputy Director General of the Board, Wael Rousan, reported that the board engaged in numerous discussions with media representatives, travel agents, and tourism specialists during the three-day event to boost Jordan’s tourism appeal.
Rousan also highlighted the significance of the Italian market to Jordan’s tourism industry, noting a visitor count of 127,000 Italians last year, though he acknowledged a decline in numbers this year due to regional political situations.
The exhibition attracted over 75,000 visitors, underscoring its significance as a gathering point for various stakeholders in the global tourism industry.
