Expanding Health Services: New Centers in Salt and Mahes Under Inspection by Health Minister

SALT: Minister of Health Firas Hawari on Monday inspected the progress of construction at two health centers in Salt and Mahes, which are being upgraded as part of a national plan to enhance primary health care services across the Kingdom. According to Jordan News Agency, Minister Hawari emphasized the importance of these new facilities in the government's health sector strategy. The construction of the health centers in Salt and Mahes is a key initiative under the first phase of the comprehensive health coverage plan, which was approved last June. This plan focuses on strengthening the infrastructure of primary health facilities to provide efficient and high-quality health services. The Salt Health Center, soon to be a comprehensive health facility, covers an area of approximately 1,500 square meters. It is set to offer a wide range of medical services including general medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, family medicine, orthopedics, and dermatology. Additional facilities such as a labora tory, a radiology department, and specialized dental services will also be featured. Importantly, the center will include a maternity and childhood services wing to serve around 60,000 citizens. On the other hand, the Mahes Health Center, which spans 1,860 square meters, will serve approximately 35,000 citizens. It will provide similar services to those offered in Salt, including general medicine, specialized clinics like pediatrics and gynecology, a laboratory, radiology services, and maternity care. The development of these centers marks a significant step toward achieving universal health coverage and improving the quality of life for the Kingdom's residents by ensuring accessible and comprehensive health care.
