Casablanca: Morocco has initiated the construction of what is expected to become the world's largest football stadium, with a seating capacity of 115,000. The stadium, named Hassan II, is located in Ben Slimane near Casablanca and is being prepared for the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Portugal and Spain. The completion of the construction is scheduled for 2028. According to Kuwait News Agency, the design of Hassan II Stadium incorporates a grand tented roof that stands out dramatically against the forested backdrop of Ben Slimane. The stadium will feature five levels along the main stands, including facilities to accommodate 12,000 VIPs and a Royal box. A distinctive roof canopy constructed from a unique aluminum lattice will cover the structure. This canopy not only supports the roof's geometry but also the stadium's bowl, which is encircled by 32 stairways. These stairways lead to monumental gateways with lush gardens on raised platforms, each positioned 28 meters above the ground. The integration of green spaces within the stadium's design is notable, with gardens under the translucent roof canopy providing a serene, oasis-like environment. Additionally, a series of botanical gardens are planned beneath the outer edges of the canopy at ground level, enhancing the venue's aesthetic and visitor experience. The stadium's design draws inspiration from the traditional Moroccan social gathering known as a "moussem," reflecting the cultural heritage of the country.
