Jenin: A Palestinian woman was killed on Thursday by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, northeast of Jenin. The victim, identified as Hanan Abu Salamah, 59, was reportedly shot while picking olives near the West Bank barrier, a contentious structure erected by Israeli forces in 2002. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death of Hanan Abu Salamah in a statement. The incident occurred in the village of Faqqua, where she was fatally injured by gunfire. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its medical teams attended to a critically injured woman from Faqqua village. Despite immediate transport to the hospital, Abu Salamah succumbed to her injuries. Local sources indicated that Abu Salamah was engaged in olive harvesting in her land adjacent to the barrier when the shooting occurred. The barrier, often referred to by Palestinians as the "occupation wall," is viewed by Israel as a security measure, while Palestinians see it as an illegal annexatio n of their land.
