UAE President Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses Sees Prize Increase to AED8 Million

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club (ADEC) is set to host the 32nd edition of the UAE President Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses on 15th December 2024 in Abu Dhabi. With a substantial increase in the prize purse to AED8 million, this premier Group 1 race establishes a new benchmark in the global Arabian horse racing arena. According to Emirates News Agency, the race, directed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and President of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, covers a distance of 2,200 metres. This year, the prize money has seen a significant rise of AED3.5 million, underscoring the event's homage to the rich cultural heritage and sporting prowess associated with purebred Arabian horses. Eng. Ali Al Shaiba, Director-General of ADEC, highlighted the importance of the event in promoting the UAE's commitment to preserving and enhancing its racing heritage on an international scale. "We are honoured to host the final stage of the UAE President Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses. This prestigious event not only showcases the elite capabilities of purebred Arabian horses but also reaffirms the UAE's commitment to preserving and promoting our rich racing heritage on a global level," said Al Shaiba. The UAE President Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses, initiated in 1994 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, was created to spotlight the significance of purebred Arabian horses in the racing world. Today, the event is recognized as the pinnacle of purebred Arabian racing globally, attracting the most qualified racehorse owners, trainers, and jockeys from around the world.
