MUSCAT: Organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the "Oman Conference on Generative Artificial Intelligence" commenced today at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event, themed 'Future of Smart Economy 2024,' aims to explore the potential of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in advancing the smart economy within the Sultanate of Oman. According to Oman News Agency, the two-day conference features participation from local and international experts and specialists. The agenda includes discussions on how GenAI can enhance the smart economy in Oman. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. The conference's program includes three discussion sessions. The first session focused on GenAI as a catalyst for future development. The second session examined the influence of quantum computing on artificial intelligence technologies. The third session explored the transformation of business patterns in the age of artificial intelligence. In addition to the discussions, a technical exhibition was opened, highlighting the products of technical companies and their latest innovations and smart solutions developed locally. On the sidelines of the conference, winners of the 'Engineer it with Artificial Intelligence' contest were also recognized.
