This was emphasized by Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, the UAE's Minister of Health and Prevention, who credited the country's initiatives in supporting international campaigns to combat the disease. According to Emirates News Agency, Al Owais highlighted the humanitarian initiatives launched under the direction of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. These initiatives have been instrumental in advancing towards a polio-free world, fulfilling the hopes of millions of children and their families for improved health and well-being. Marking World Polio Day, Al Owais stated, "The UAE is proud of its leading role in eradicating polio. Our humanitarian initiatives have reached millions of children worldwide, helping significantly reduce infection rates." The UAE's commitment to this cause is eviden t in its ongoing support for international organizations conducting large-scale vaccination campaigns in vulnerable regions. Al Owais commended the recent initiative by the UAE President to allocate $5 million to a polio vaccination campaign in Gaza, demonstrating the country's dedication to addressing global humanitarian challenges. Furthermore, Al Owais assured that the UAE will persist in its national immunization campaigns against polio, ensuring comprehensive vaccination coverage through adherence to international health protocols.
