Chinese City Unveils Advanced Satellite Production Line Capable of 150 Units Annually

ZHUZHOU: An advanced production line designed to manufacture over 150 small commercial satellites each year was inaugurated at an industrial park in Zhuzhou, central China's Hunan Province. The facility is set to produce satellites weighing between 50 and 500 kilograms. According to Emirates News Agency, the production line is owned by Hunan Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., a private company aiming to enhance China's commercial satellite capabilities. The company has already secured orders and is poised to commence production following the launch of the new line. The facility is comprehensive, featuring a research and development center, a satellite-manufacturing factory, a space environment testing center, and a space materials testing and evaluation center. This new development was announced during the 3rd International Summit on BDS (BeiDou Navigation Satellite System) Applications in Zhuzhou, an event that showcased the expansion and potential of the satellite industry.
