RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has issued a strong condemnation of Israel's recent military strikes on Iran, labeling them as a violation of Iranian sovereignty and a breach of international law. The Saudi Foreign Ministry released a statement on Saturday denouncing the attacks, which took place early that morning, as a serious infringement on Iran's territorial integrity that contradicts established international norms. According to National news agency - Lebanon, the kingdom reaffirmed its firm stance against the escalation of conflict and the spread of violence in the region. The Saudi statement highlighted concerns about the potential threat these actions pose to regional security and stability. The kingdom called on all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint and actively seek to reduce tensions. The Saudi Foreign Ministry's statement also warned of the consequences of continued military confrontations, urging for immediate efforts to de-escalate the situation. This appeal comes in the wake of the Israeli army's announcement that it had conducted targeted airstrikes on Iranian military facilities. These strikes were reportedly in response to a large-scale ballistic missile attack by Iran on Israel on October 1. In response to the Israeli military action, Iran has declared its readiness to retaliate against what it described as Israeli "aggression." The ongoing tensions underscore the fragility of peace and stability in the region, prompting calls for diplomatic interventions to prevent further escalation.
