Beirut: At least 60 people were killed and 58 others injured in renewed airstrikes launched by Israeli occupying forces on northeastern Lebanon late Monday, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. The overnight air raids targeted several towns and villages in Lebanon's northeastern provinces of Baalbek, Hermel, and Beqaa, the ministry said in a press release. According to Kuwait News Agency, Israeli warplanes also attacked several other areas in southern Lebanon, but no casualties were reported from these attacks. The recent escalation is part of a broader pattern of intense airstrikes by the Israeli occupation since September 23, affecting various regions across Lebanon. These strikes have resulted in significant casualties, extensive damage, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. The ongoing conflict and its impact on civilian populations have drawn international attention and concern. The situation remains volatile, with humanitarian organizations urging for immediate cessation of ho stilities to allow for aid and relief efforts to reach affected areas.
