Kuwait Cabinet Welcomes New Members.

Kuwait: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah opened the weekly cabinet meeting on Tuesday afternoon, welcoming the newly-appointed Minister of Education Jalal Abdulmehsen Al-Tabtabei and Minister of Oil Tareq Suleiman Ahmad Al-Roumi. He expressed his hopes for their success in managing their respective ministerial responsibilities during this significant period, under the guidance of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. According to Kuwait News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Abdullah Al-Mousherji stated that His Highness the Prime Minister urged the cabinet members to increase their efforts and work collaboratively to accelerate the development process and meet the aspirations of the citizens. The cabinet meeting, held at Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations, reviewed the Amir Decree 183 (2024), which appointed Al-Tabta bei as Minister of Education and Al-Roumi as Minister of Oil. The meeting also addressed letters from leaders of friendly countries discussing ways to enhance cooperation with Kuwait. Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi provided information about the New Maternity Hospital, a significant maternity facility in the region. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and cabinet members for their visit and inspection of the hospital. The Prime Minister praised the health minister, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Noura Muhammad Khaled Al-Mashaan, and leaders of relevant agencies for their efforts in executing the hospital project. First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Youssef Saud Al-Sabah briefed the cabinet on his visit to Qatar, where he attended the 14th edition of Milipol Qatar, a global exhibition and conference for homeland security and safety. The event featured 240 exhibitors from 22 countries. Shei kh Fahad was informed about advancements in criminal investigations, visited the National Command Centre committee on joint drills 'Watan 2024', and met with Qatari leaders to discuss security and defense cooperation. Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Mahmoud Abdulaziz Mahmoud Bushehri updated the cabinet on the status of power generation and future energy demand until 2030. He explained projects aimed at upgrading the national power grid and expanding power stations. The cabinet affirmed their commitment to supporting the ministry's efforts to meet the increasing power demand and prevent potential blackouts during the summer.
