Jerusalem: Jewish settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque (Haram Al Sharif) compound in occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday and performed prayers at the site, one of Islam's holiest shrines. The incident marked a significant breach of the sensitive religious site, stirring tensions in the region. According to Jordan News Agency, the Jerusalem Islamic Endowments Department reported that dozens of ultra-orthodox settlers entered the holy compound through Bab Al-Maghariba Gate. The entry was made under heavy police escort, highlighting the ongoing security measures and tensions surrounding the site. Since the start of Israel's aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in October 2023, occupation authorities have tightened measures at the gates of the compound in Jerusalem's walled Old City. These measures have included allowing incursions by settlers and far-right groups, further escalating the already volatile situation in the area.
