Amman: The Jordanian National Centre for Epidemics and Communicable Diseases Control (JCDC) conducted a training workshop titled "Cybersecurity: A Strategic Necessity to Protect Institutions and National Security" as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. According to Jordan News Agency, the head of JCDC, Dr. Adel Belbisi, emphasized the importance of educating the center's employees on safeguarding digital systems and essential assets in Jordan. This initiative aims at bolstering the country's defenses against potential cyber threats that could target critical sectors. Fatimeh Hammad, the Director of Information Technology and Systems at JCDC, elaborated on the components of cybersecurity, which include a range of operations, technologies, and tools designed to protect digital systems, networks, and data from cyberattacks. She also addressed the significant impact of cyber threats on the operational processes of institutions, particularly in crucial sectors like healthcare, and reviewed Jordan's ongoing ef forts to strengthen its cybersecurity framework.
