Zarqa: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday inaugurated the Ministry of Health's Strategic Medical Inventory Warehouse in the Yajouz area, a facility designed to bolster Jordan's medical stockpile for an additional four months. Health Minister Feras Hawari briefed His Majesty on the warehouse's significance, highlighting its role in supplying medicines to sub-warehouses across governorates, hospitals, health directorates, and primary healthcare centers. Hawari emphasized that the warehouse is the first centralized pharmaceutical warehouse in the public sector and is part of an integrated project aimed at modernizing the supply chain infrastructure. The project includes plans to upgrade six warehouses in the north, four in the south, and two in Amman. The construction of the warehouse was a collaborative effort with the World Health Organi zation and was funded by the European Union. It features a storage area of 959 square meters, 24 refrigerated trucks, and computerized systems to manage medical waste effectively. The inauguration was attended by high-profile figures, including Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat, European Union Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, and WHO representative in Jordan Jamela Al Raiby.
