Amman: Minister of Government Communications Mohammad Momani met on Wednesday with senior officials participating in the 13th Global Media and Information Literacy Week conference. Momani stressed the importance of holding the conference in Jordan, reflecting its leading role in media and information literacy education in the Arab world, and the contribution of its experience at the Arab and regional levels. According to Jordan News Agency, Momani, who is also the government spokesperson, welcomed the conference attendees and looked forward to their discussions and recommendations, reflecting on the promotion and dissemination of media and information literacy concepts at various local, Arab, and international levels. He pointed out that the conference is an opportunity to discuss the importance of media and information education as an effective tool in countering misinformation and rumors and urging young people to think critically. For their part, the officials lauded Jordan's efforts in hosting the confe rence and its leading experience in this field.
