Kataeb Delegation Engages Papal Ambassador in Beirut Talks.

Beirut: A delegation from the Lebanese Kataeb Party, representing Party President MP Samy Gemayel, visited Apostolic Nuncio Monsignor Paolo Borgia to discuss pressing national issues and the Kataeb's vision for solutions amid Lebanon's grave challenges. The meeting aimed to address ongoing concerns and explore potential pathways to stability within the nation. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the delegation included Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel, the party's Vice President Dr. Bernard Gerbaka, and Political Bureau Member Dr. Alain Hakim. The delegation expressed the party's appreciation for the efforts of His Holiness Pope Francis and Cardinal Pietro Parolin in safeguarding Lebanon from the war affecting the country, preserving its identity as a 'nation of message,' and protecting the Christian presence. The discussion highlighted the urgent need for the full implementation of international resolutions, specifically 1701 and 1559, emphasizing the importance of constitutional respect. The delegation un derscored that weapons should solely be in the hands of the Lebanese Army and legitimate forces responsible for defending Lebanon, its territory, and its people. The delegation informed the Papal Ambassador of the Kataeb party's collaborative efforts with municipalities and local organizations to secure proper housing for displaced individuals who have been forced to leave their homes. They also conveyed concerns for residents of border regions who remain in their villages, emphasizing the necessity for support to sustain their resilience and identity.
