Abbas Ibrahim Asserts Battlefield Will Dictate Ceasefire.

Beirut: General Security Director, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, on Thursday addressed the recent diplomatic efforts aimed at halting Israeli aggression against Lebanon through social media. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Ibrahim highlighted a series of envoy visits to Lebanon as part of a new initiative to secure a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel. He mentioned that Hochstein is arriving in Lebanon with a proposed initiative, indicating a surge in diplomatic activity. Ibrahim pointed out that the media in Israel is projecting a positive outlook, with local media in Lebanon reporting potential settlements based on Israeli media leaks without any critical examination. Ibrahim noted a recurring pattern of conflict moving from Gaza to Lebanon over the past year. He expressed skepticism about reaching a solution soon, arguing that Israel is unlikely to concede any leverage to an outgoing administration. He suggested that the underlying motivation is to bolster the position of the Democratic can didate in the United States. Ibrahim emphasized that the current U.S. administration had the power to enforce a ceasefire in both Gaza and Lebanon over the past year but chose not to. He concluded that only the battlefield would truly determine the timing of a ceasefire.
