Health Minister Launches National Vaccination Campaign Amid Escalating Crisis.

Baalbek: The Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and local partners, on Thursday launched a national vaccination campaign targeting polio, measles, rubella, and mumps: The campaign, initiated at a displacement center in Karantina amidst ongoing Israeli aggression, aims to protect children, especially in overcrowded shelters. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the initiative is a crucial step in preventing potential outbreaks in vulnerable communities. Caretaker Health Minister, Firas Abiad, underscored the pressing need to control epidemics and safeguard public health. He stressed that the campaign is essential to shield children living in displacement centers from preventable diseases. UNICEF's Edouard Beigbeder and WHO's Elissar Rady echoed the Health Minister's sentiments, emphasizing the significance of the vaccination drive. They pointed out that it is crucial to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in communities that are already facin g heightened risks due to the current crisis.
