Beirut: Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Tuesday hosted U.S. Presidential Envoy, Amos Hochstein. The meeting was attended by Caretaker Foreign Minister, Abdallah Bou Habib, and U.S. Ambassador Lisa Johnson. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions reportedly focused on Hochstein's efforts to secure a ceasefire and implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Mikati reiterated the government's priorities, emphasizing, "Our foremost goal is halting the aggression against Lebanon, achieving a ceasefire, and safeguarding Lebanese sovereignty across all territories." The Prime Minister also stressed the urgent need to return displaced individuals to their towns and villages, highlighting the devastation caused by Israeli attacks. Mikati further called for enforcing international resolutions and enhancing the Lebanese Army's authority in southern Lebanon.
