Defense Minister Refutes Claims of Israeli Operational Freedom in Lebanon.

Beirut: Caretaker Minister of Defense, Maurice Sleem, emphasized on Wednesday that recent discussions regarding the Israeli enemy's operational freedom in Lebanon are in direct contradiction with the stipulated terms of the recently published 13-item agreement. Speaking to reporters prior to a cabinet session at the Grand Serail, Sleem firmly stated that the ceasefire agreement does not allow for Israel's operational maneuvers within Lebanese territory. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Sleem clarified that the agreement strictly upholds the right of self-defense for both parties involved. He underscored the primary importance of safeguarding Lebanon's national sovereignty and ensuring the security and peace of its citizens. Sleem further assured that the Lebanese army will play an integral role in the implementation and oversight of the ceasefire plan. "The army will do everything required to follow up on the plan, and it will be the cornerstone of all the measures under the plan," he affirmed, reiterating the commitment to maintaining stability and peace within the region.
