President Aoun Meets Religious Leaders and Receives Congratulations from China

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Monday emphasized the importance of unity for Lebanon's reconstruction. He stated, "We must be one hand to rebuild the country. This is not a difficult task if intentions are pure." Aoun highlighted the need for forming a government that aligns with the aspirations of the Lebanese people to enable the country's economic recovery.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun expressed that establishing a new government promptly would send a positive message globally, indicating Lebanon's progress. He stressed that all leaders must shoulder their responsibilities, and those unable to do so should not remain in power. Aoun called for collective efforts for the public interest, stating that Lebanon's growth depends on all its citizens, irrespective of their sectarian affiliations.

President Aoun's statements were made during meetings at Baabda Palace with religious leaders, including Catholicos of the Armenian Church Aram I, Patriarch of the Syriac Catholic Church Mar Ignatius Joseph III Younan, and Armenian Catholic Patriarch Rapha«l Bedros XXI Minassian. These leaders visited to congratulate him on his presidential election.

Additionally, President Aoun received Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Qian Minjian, who delivered a congratulatory letter from China's President Xi Jinping. Aoun expressed his intention to strengthen Lebanon-China relations across various fields. The meeting included discussions on Lebanon's current situation and bilateral cooperation.

In another meeting, President Aoun engaged with Lebanon's Charg© d'Affaires in Brazil, Ambassador Carla Jazzar, to discuss Lebanon-Brazil relations and the Lebanese expatriate community's conditions in Brazil.
