Berri Discusses Southern Developments, Israeli Withdrawal with Jeffers in Johnson’s Presence

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with the head of the Ceasefire Monitoring Committee, U.S. General Jasper Jeffers, at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh. The meeting was also attended by U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa Johnson, and Media Advisor, Ali Hamdan.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions centered on the developments related to the Israeli withdrawal from the remaining occupied territories in southern Lebanon. The talks also addressed Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement and UN Resolution 1701. The resolution, adopted by the UN Security Council, calls for a full cessation of hostilities and outlines measures for sustaining peace in the region.
