Beirut: Egypt's Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, is set to arrive in Lebanon tomorrow (Friday), carrying a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to President Joseph Aoun.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut stated that Abdelatty's visit marks his third trip to Lebanon. The purpose of the visit is to emphasize Egypt's support for Lebanon following the election of President Joseph Aoun and the designation of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to form the new government.
The embassy's statement highlighted Egypt's desire to reactivate cooperation between the two nations across various economic and developmental fields, alongside bolstering bilateral political coordination.
Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon Alaa Moussa noted that Abdelatty will engage in several meetings following his discussions with President Aoun. These will include meetings with House Speaker Nabih Berri, outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati, PM-designate Nawaf Salam, outgoing Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, as well as various political and spiritual leaders.
"The visit is the beginning of a new stage through which Egypt seeks to reinforce cooperation with Lebanon," Moussa commented.
