Defense Minister Engages in Strategic Discussions with Army Leadership

Beirut: National Defense Minister, Michel Menassa, on Monday met at his Yarzeh office with Acting Army Commander Major General Hassan Odeh, who was accompanied by a delegation from the command, to congratulate him on his new role at the Ministry of National Defense.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions during the meeting centered around the current security situation in the country. They emphasized the army's crucial role in addressing any attempts to destabilize Lebanon and maintaining civil peace.

Minister Menassa also held a meeting with Army Intelligence Chief, Brigadier General Tony Kahwaji. Brigadier General Kahwaji offered his congratulations to Menassa on his new position in the ministry. Their talks focused on the security situation and developments in southern Lebanon, particularly in the context of ongoing Israeli violations and attacks.

Menassa reiterated Lebanon's unwavering demand for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its southern territories, emphasizing the importance of meeting the deadline set for the 18th of this month.
