Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with Iran's Shura Council Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf at Ain al-Tineh Palace, accompanied by a delegation and Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Amani. The meeting focused on developments in Lebanon and the region, bilateral relations between Lebanon and Iran, and parliamentary cooperation.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Qalibaf stated that the visit included representatives from various Iranian authorities and organizations. The delegation participated in the funeral ceremony for Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, which marked a significant moment for the Lebanese people, reflecting their admiration for the martyrs.
Qalibaf also met with Lebanese officials, including the President at Baabda Palace and planned to meet Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. He noted the significant turnout at the funeral as a testimony to the national importance of the martyrs.
Qalibaf expressed hope for enhanced cooperation between Iran and Lebanon as the new Lebanese government begins its work. He emphasized the importance of unity among the Lebanese government, people, and resistance, asserting Iran's support for any unanimous decision made by these groups.
