Salam Meets Qalibaf to Discuss Airport Safety and Regional Challenges

Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Shura Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the Grand Serail. The meeting, which included Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Amani, was marked by congratulations to Prime Minister Salam on the formation of the new government.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, PM Salam highlighted Lebanon's diplomatic efforts to urge Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to reconstruct areas affected by recent Israeli actions.

Salam also addressed concerns regarding airport safety, underscoring that the Lebanese state bears full responsibility for ensuring the security of Martyr Rafik Hariri International Airport and its passengers.

On the topic of regional challenges, particularly the Gaza conflict, Salam emphasized the importance of a resolution that allows Palestinians to exercise self-determination and establish an independent state, in alignment with the Arab Peace Initiative adopted in 2002.
