Beirut: Head of the "Change Movement" Party, Attorney Elie Mahfoud, has issued a stark warning against the idea of settling Syrians and Palestinians in Lebanon, equating such discussions to a declaration of war.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Mahfoud released a statement on Sunday emphasizing the severity of the issue. He declared that even mere discussions about settling or permanently keeping Syrians and Palestinians in Lebanon are tantamount to a declaration of war. Mahfoud stressed that the Lebanese rejection of this idea is absolute, complete, decisive, and firm. He noted that this stance is a unifying position for all Lebanese, regardless of any incentives or bribes that might be offered, even if they were as valuable as the treasures of the earth. He made it clear that the matter is not open to discussion or negotiation.
Mahfoud further noted that whispers have begun within some international corridors, which are suggesting what he described as satanic ideas. He asserted that any attempt to undermine Lebanon's sovereignty would be met with strong opposition and confrontation.
