Beirut: Minister of Environment Tamara El-Zein held a series of meetings with international partners and diplomatic missions to inform them of the ministry's priorities and plans regarding environmental and climate issues. She emphasized the need to initiate projects that address pressing challenges such as air pollution, forest fires, monitoring the operation of wastewater treatment plants, and other issues.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, these meetings included dozens of technical encounters with the World Bank, the European Union, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and United Nations agencies, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), FAO, UN OCHA, UNICEF, UNOPS, UN-Habitat, and ESCWA.
Minister El-Zein's discussions aimed to secure support and collaboration from these international entities to effectively implement projects that can alleviate the environmental issues faced by the country. By engaging with such a diverse array of organizations, the ministry hopes to leverage global expertise and resources to foster sustainable solutions.
