Beirut: The 'Citizens in Beirut, the State's Capital' list launched its 15-member slate for municipal elections in front of the Beirut National Museum, rejecting traditional sectarian politics.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the list issued a statement condemning Lebanon's ruling class for perpetuating a post-war system entrenched in fear, division, and corruption.
The list presented itself as a genuine alternative with a focus on challenging financial elites, restoring public housing, implementing a public transport network, and initiating a population census.
The group declared that 'the past doesn't own the future,' and called for a civil state, rejecting the false choices presented by the existing three establishment-backed lists.
