Tripoli: MP Ashraf Rifi cast his vote in the municipal elections in Tripoli, emphasizing that the battle is 'purely developmental, not political.' He commended the neutrality of state institutions, noting that for the first time in decades, the state oversaw the electoral process without interference.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Rifi stressed the importance of electing the most competent candidates. He highlighted renewed hopes for development, mentioning government efforts to revive Tripoli's refinery and airport.
Rifi concluded by warning against the marginalization of diversity and urged legislation to protect coexistence. He stated, 'We'll support whoever the people choose and put our political weight behind them.'
