Beirut: Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haykal, addressed military personnel following the conclusion of the municipal and mayoral elections, praising their commitment and discipline. "I extend my congratulations and appreciation to you for your honorable performance during the municipal and mayoral elections, at a critical stage when our country is facing exceptional challenges. You have proven once again that you are up to the trust and responsibility, present with full commitment and discipline, and entrusted with protecting the democratic face of Lebanon," he stated.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, General Haykal acknowledged the troops' efforts in ensuring the elections took place under appropriate conditions. He highlighted their ability to handle issues wisely and professionally, including pursuing and arresting individuals responsible for election-related shootings. "All this contributed to the success of this national event and reflected a bright image of the army's role as a guarantor of stability and protector of the constitution," he added.
General Haykal emphasized the significance of their responsibilities but expressed confidence in the troops' resilience. "Our responsibility is great, but my confidence in you and your resilience makes me certain that we will continue on the path of honor, sacrifice, and loyalty, no matter how difficult the challenges, to preserve the security of the nation and the dignity of its people," he asserted.
