Salam Reaffirms Lebanon’s Commitment to Self-Defense on Liberation Day

Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam emphasized Lebanon's commitment to self-defense and sovereignty as the nation commemorates "Liberation Day" this year. He remarked that the celebration remains incomplete until all Lebanese territories are free from Israeli occupation.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam expressed his views on the "X" platform, underscoring the government's pledge to several key principles outlined in its ministerial statement. These principles include the need to take all necessary actions to liberate Lebanese lands and ensure the state's sovereignty across its territories, in line with the Taif Accord. Furthermore, Salam reiterated Lebanon's right to self-defense against any aggression, as stipulated by the United Nations Charter.

Salam also highlighted the importance of reconstructing areas damaged by Israeli aggression, emphasizing the mobilization of Arab and international support to achieve this objective.
