Baabda: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, conducted a series of meetings at Baabda Palace to discuss significant political, ministerial, and community issues.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meetings included a diverse range of topics, from religious authority to economic development.
Initially, President Aoun met with Sheikh Ali Qaddour, President of the Alawite Islamic Council. They conversed about the community's concerns, focusing on the decree regarding religious authority, court legislation, and equitable representation in public administration and diplomacy.
Subsequently, Minister of Industry Georges Issa Khoury highlighted ongoing efforts to bolster Lebanon's industrial sector, which is considered a cornerstone for the country's economic revival. Meanwhile, Minister of Information Paul Morcos briefed the President on the latest developments at T©l© Liban and shared insights from his participation in the Arab Media Summit in Dubai.
MP Fouad Makhzoumi expressed his congratulations to the President on the successful execution of recent municipal elections and voiced his confidence in Aoun's constitutional leadership.
A delegation from the Maronite Foundation in the World, led by Rose Antoine Choueiri, outlined their mission to assist Lebanese descendants in regaining citizenship and reconnecting with their heritage. President Aoun commended their efforts, particularly in diaspora engagement and legislative advocacy for extending Law 41 on nationality restoration.
Additionally, President Aoun met with former minister Raed Khoury and former MP Nabil Nicolas to discuss economic and developmental issues, including healthcare and social security.
