Beirut:President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun engaged in a phone conversation with Bahrain's King, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, discussing the regional situation and the specific developments affecting the Gulf states.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, President Aoun expressed Lebanon's solidarity with Bahrain, emphasizing the unity of Lebanon's leadership and people with the Kingdom of Bahrain and its citizens.
The dialogue between the two leaders also touched upon enhancing bilateral relations. President Aoun conveyed his aspirations for the appointment of a Bahraini ambassador to Lebanon, the resumption of flights between the two nations, and the return of Bahraini airlines to operate at Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport.
In response, King Al Khalifa highlighted the longstanding ties between Bahrain and Lebanon, reiterating the Kingdom's support for Lebanon and its people.
