Jordanian Foreign Ministry Urges Immediate Action to Prevent Further Regional Conflict

Beirut: Jordan warned today of the disastrous repercussions of the serious escalation in the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed in a statement, "the need for concerted efforts to end the escalation immediately and protect the region and international peace and security from slipping into further wars and conflict."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Jordan "is following with great concern the repercussions of the targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities and calls for an end to the war and a return to negotiations to reach a political solution to the Iranian nuclear issue."

The Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Qudah, affirmed the condemnation of the ongoing escalation in the region and the need to respect international law, the UN Charter, and state sovereignty.

Ambassador Qudah emphasized "the need for the international community to act to halt the dangerous deterioration that threatens the security and stability of the region, and to activate effective and influential political processes to resolve all crises in the region in accordance with international law and international legitimacy resolutions, while respecting the rights of peoples and ensuring respect for state sovereignty."
