Latakia: Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, announced that a large portion of the forest fires raging in the Latakia countryside have been contained, expressing optimism that they would be fully extinguished by this evening, according to "Russia Today".
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Al-Saleh stated, "We have brought a large portion of the fires under control, but the winds and remnants of war are hindering full control." He noted that "the village of Qastal Maaf is one of the villages most affected by the fires," while stressing that "no human losses have been recorded so far." He added, "We are optimistic about fully bringing the fires under control this evening if the wind speed stabilizes."
Al-Saleh expressed his appreciation to the participating organizations and all individuals who are providing support and assistance in these difficult circumstances.
