Al-matn: The funeral service of the renowned Lebanese artist Ziad Rahbani began at the Church of the Dormition of Our Lady in Muhaydtha - Bikfaya, in the presence of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and his wife Mrs. Sahar, Vice Speaker Elias Bou Saab representing House Speaker Nabih Berri, former President Amin Gemayel, Minister of Culture Dr. Ghassan Salameh, Information Minister Attorney Paul Morcos, MP Ibrahim Al-Moussaoui, Ziad Rahbani's mother, Lebanese icon Fairuz, his sister Rima and the family.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the funeral was also attended by scores of official and political figures, artists, intellectuals, cultural figures, as well as Ziad Rahbani's loved ones and fans. The funeral prayer is led by the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Mount Lebanon, Bishop Silouan Moussi, aided by a group of priests.
