Bikfaya: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam offered his condolences to the family of the late artist Ziad Rahbani at the farewell service held at the Church of the Dormition of Our Lady - Muhaydatha, in Bikfaya.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Premier Salam also presented the late artist's family with the Order of the Cedar medal, at the rank of Commander, on behalf of the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun. This gesture was in honor of Rahbani's unique artistic and national contributions.
In his speech, Premier Salam praised Ziad Rahbani as a creative genius and an honest voice for his generation. He acknowledged Rahbani's commitment to the causes of humanity and the nation and highlighted his courage in addressing issues that many would not. Salam concluded by affirming that Rahbani will forever be remembered as a voice of beauty, revolt, justice, and truth.
