Beirut: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Lebanon, Chen Chuandong, in his office to discuss increased bilateral cooperation relating to the ministry's work. The courtesy visit provided an opportunity for both parties to address the status of a Chinese grant of 100 buses intended to bolster Lebanon's public transport infrastructure. Rasamny inquired about the expected arrival of the buses to expedite their deployment.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Chinese ambassador introduced a series of initiatives that demonstrate China's commitment to supporting Lebanon. These include additional grants dedicated to infrastructure and road projects, as well as invitations for Lebanese delegations to engage in specialized training programs in China. These programs aim to enhance capacity building and technical expertise within Lebanon.
Rasamny expressed appreciation for these initiatives and acknowledged China's support of Lebanon's transport and infrastructure sectors. He affirmed the ministry's commitment to coordinating with relevant parties to ensure the successful implementation of these projects and their translation into practical outcomes.
