Salam Patronizes Aley District Development Conference: Sustainable Development A National Necessity

Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam emphasized that "sustainable development is not an option, but a national necessity." He stated, "The administrative decentralization we seek is neither a luxury nor a slogan, but a constitutional and reform commitment, and part of a broader national path: the path of building a strong and just state." Salam further highlighted that decentralization should serve as a unifying and developmental force rather than a source of conflict.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, these remarks were made during Salam's patronage of the comprehensive development conference for the district of Aley, organized by the "Green Hand" Association in the town of Ainab. Salam stressed that local development should not be solely measured by economic output but by the ability to build a cohesive society and create opportunities for the younger generations. He identified Lebanese youth as the essential renewable energy needed for Lebanon's restoration.

Salam called for collaborative efforts among the state, civil society, and the private sector to ensure that every region in Lebanon receives its due share of development. He envisioned a sovereign, just, unified, and enduring homeland for all Lebanese citizens.
